An Austrian/Hungarian hussar's sabre, early 18th century

Description

Lightly curved, sharp single-edged blade (pitted) with yelmen and double-edged point, slight fuller on each side, the obverse with serrated crescent-shaped marks. Wide iron quillons with long languet and thumb ring on the reverse. Grip with black leather cover, punched decorative brass rivets on both sides, brass pommel cap with punched decoration, attached to it a small iron chain. Wooden scabbard with new leather cover and old, punched iron furniture, two movable suspension rings. Iron parts pitted, traces of use and age. Length 100 cm.
