A US Lifetime Headgear Collection and other Imperial and WW II Collectibles | A106us | Präsenzauktion | 510 Lose

Beschreibung

Custom-made from fine field-gray gabardine with a dark green collar and cuffs, white piping, silver buttons, and green silk lining. The inside pocket bears a tailor's label from Rudolf Keller, Berlin, with the wearer's name "Lt. A. Schwarzmann ... 1937." The jacket bears the regulation acceptance stamp "Geprüft" (Tested) on the lower lining of the lieutenant's original unit, "2./Pz. Abw. 11." After his transfer to the Parachute Infantry Battalion, the jacket was modified, the piping and insignia changed to white, the stamping erased, and the insignia was re-approved with "F.I.B.". Silver-embroidered breast eagle, white collar and sleeve patches with silver-embroidered braid and sewn-on shoulder boards with gold Gothic letters "FI" for Parachute Infantry. Extremely rare jacket, pictured in Eric Queen's book "Red Shines the Sun."
