A sabre for officers of the hussars, mid-18th century

Description

Sturdy, slightly curved single-edged blade (pitted) with fuller on both sides and double-edged point, the upper third etched with trophies, tendrils and double-headed eagle. Brass knuckle-bow hilt decorated in relief, with pearled knuckle bow and leather-covered grip (rubbed, minor flaws). In a new wooden scabbard with black leather cover and old brass fittings (dents), two movable suspension rings. Slightly damaged in places, traces of age. Length 106.5 cm.
