Description

Sturdy single-edged blade fullered on both sides (stained, pitting in places), double-edged point (slightly bent) with a barbed hook, the double-headed eagle below a crown etched into both sides, the maker's signature „WEIZ" (over-polished in areas) and „39"(?) on the spine. Knuckle-bow hilt in non-ferrous metal without a crosspiece, guard plate with six oval perforations and two slits for the thong. Approx. 50% of the original leather cover preserved on the grip, simple brass wire winding, lion's head pommel on the grip cap. Brown leather-covered scabbard (scuffed) with wooden core and integrated, smooth brass mountings, a heart-shaped frog stud and old engraved „No. 39" on the obverse of the locket. Slightly damaged here and there, obvious signs of age and use. Length 101.5 cm. Extremely rare sword in good, original condition.
