Beschreibung
A fine example of a late-war German Army assault gun crew wrap (Sturmartillerie "Wrapper") field jacket. Constructed of typical mid- to late-war worsted cloth in a subdued greyish-green shade, the material remains in very good condition with an even appearance throughout. The collar is fitted with late-war pattern Litzen collar tabs, set on a dark backing with red artillery branch piping executed in rayon. Matching slip-on shoulder straps also feature red rayon piping, denoting the artillery arm of service. The breast eagle is the correct late-war triangular pattern, produced in machine-woven "Bevo" construction and originally machine stitched to the garment. All front closure buttons remain present and secure. The wrap retains its correct construction details, including proper buttonholes and the interior waist adjustment ties, which remain intact and untied. The interior lining shows only light wear consistent with the exterior condition. Inside, the jacket is clearly marked with size stamps and bears the depot acceptance marking "F44", indicating issue through the Frankfurt clothing depot in 1944, along with an RBNr. manufacturer's code. These markings are consistent with late-war production and further confirm the authenticity of the piece. The exterior shows only light service wear and retains a strong overall presentation, with no visible damage or moth holes. Overall, every aspect of the construction conforms to known late-war specifications. A scarce and highly desirable Sturmartillerie wrapper from the late phase of World War II that displays exceptionally well and remains in excellent condition.Zustand: II Fragen zum Los?
