Beschreibung

Tailored from green wool, the tunic features forest-green wool trim on the collar and simulated French cuffs, edged with red piping. Gold-bullion and silver-wire shoulder boards, each with a silvered gilt pip on red wool bases, are secured with gold-gilt pebbled buttons. Collar tabs are in gold bullion wire on red wool bases, machine-sewn, with dual hook-and-eye closure at the collar for a snug fit. The tunic front is pocketless. Right breast displays a gold-bullion Wehrmacht eagle interlaced with gold-colored thread. Gold-braided dress aiguillette attached at the tunic button and beneath the shoulder board. Front closure comprises eight gold-gilt pebbled buttons on the right side, facing corresponding reinforced buttonholes on the left; each button marked “EXTRA FEIN Assmann.” Rear vented tail skirt with elongated side straps, trimmed in red piping and fitted with three gold-gilt buttons each. Cuffs decorated with two gold-bullion General’s insignias, fronted by gold-gilt pebbled buttons on red wool bases. Interior lined in green rayon with a large left breast pocket. Green rayon belt sewn in place at the waist. Tailor label at the neck reads “Albert Kuhl Essen,” and interior pocket label handwritten with officer’s name “Gen. Major Georg Carp” and dated “18.06.1938”. Very fine lightly used example with no damage, rips, or holes. Lieutenant-General Georg Carp was born 16 May 1886 in Neisse/Upper Silesia. He first joined on 1 October 1904, becoming a Lt Felda.Regt.11 on 14 April 1907. Prewar Service Insp.Fahr.Tr. 1.10.37, Insp WE. Oppeln 1.5.39. His promotions were Obstlt 1.2.33, Oberst 1.3.35, Gen.Maj. 1.4.38, Gen.Lt. 1.4.42. C He died on 6 May 1983 in Tübingen/Baden-Württemberg.
