A field tunic of the special black uniform for a 1st lieutenant of the Panzer-Pioniere

A US Lifetime Headgear Collection and other Imperial and WW II Collectibles | A106us | Präsenzauktion | 510 Lose

Beschreibung

Army-style with a slanted breast flap and a two-piece back panel made of black wool with black resin buttons. The collar and collar patches are trimmed with black and silver cords. Light brown twill lining with size and manufacturer's stamp "Paul Oppala & Co." from the Berlin Clothing Office from 1940. A white woven breast eagle on a black background, sewn shoulder boards with the black lining of the engineers, and black collar patches with metal skulls. Most engineer units wore the field gray uniform of the assault gun units. The black and white or black and silver cords/piping were arbitrarily attached by the wearers and had to be removed at the end of 1940, as were the official pink or gold-yellow piping. Extremely rare uniform, featured in the late 1990s by Wade Krawczyk in his book "Army Panzer Uniforms in Color."
