Bureau of Mines emblem of gilt finish eagle with sword and shield bearing crossed hammers on silver finish oval plate, attached to front. Opening at top left of crown for plume. Lined in orange-brown oilcloth, silver foil manufacturer mark “Carl Henkel Bielefeld” and crossed hammers within circle. Brown ersatz leather sweatband. Exhibits age.
