Oval cap of seven padded panels attached to two padded oval bands, covered in field-grey wool. Machine-woven off-white eagle and wreath with cockade hand-applied to front panel. Inside frame covered in green canvas, round center padded top covered in green oilcloth. Helmet-style liner of green leather with perforated vents and drawstring, size stamped “55”. Green leather chinstrap with metal buckles. Introduced in 1940 as protective headgear for self-propelled assault gun crews, it was experimental and never issued. Only a few examples are known to exist, extremely rare. One small hole on left side band, very light wear to liner. Size ca. 55 cm.Zustand: II Fragen zum Los?
