Description
Bronze, partially gilt and patinated. A pair of candelabras in Empire style. Each in the shape of a fully sculptured female figure in antique-style robes, holding a fluted cornucopia containing grapes, pine cones and other fruit motifs, rising from it is an eight-armed candlestick, the arms embellished with vegetables and vase-shaped sockets. Circular plinth with laurel leaf frieze above a stepped, square pedestal with openwork relief plaques. Two winged Nikai on the front, flanking a central candelabra. The edges of the gilding worn; grime has accumulated in the recesses of the relief. The figures with shiny accents on exposed areas and occasional fine scratches. Height 104 cm, diameter 33 cm.
