Description

Cal. .36(BlackPowder), SN. 1990, barrel length 4½", frosted bore with good rifling. Five shots. Fluted cylinder. Loading lever. Brass grip frame with minor remainders of silver plating on a few parts. Walnut grip. Made in 1865. When a major fire forced Colt was cease production, the Metropolitan Arms Co. began producing replicas of several Colt firearms, including the Police model. These guns bear neither maker's marks nor any other markings. Unlike Colt, the loading lever was secured with a screw. See James E. Serven, Colt Firearms from 1836, Stackpole Books, p. 136.
