Description
Cal. .31(BlackPowder), SN. 278102 , matching numbers. 5" octagonal barrel with a slightly frosted bore, but good rifling. The barrel top marked “ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S.AMERICA”. Five-shot cylinder with faint roll engraving (stagecoach robbery), marked “COLTS PATENT” over serial number. Patent designation repeated on the left of the frame. Trigger guard and grip straps of brass. Metal surfaces mottled, patinated. Impact marks to the right in the area of the arbor pin wedge. Smooth walnut grips. Fouling residue in the cylinder, considerably improvable by careful cleaning.
