Description

Etched blades on both sides (one example heavily worn and pitted), with maker's marks on the quillon-side ricassos. Quillons terminating in hooves. Guards one shell-shaped, one with a hunting scene. Stag horn grips with applied decorative acorns on the front, fitted with pommel caps. Brass vessels, one example silver-plated, the other chrome-plated. Accompanied by two black leather scabbards with iron and nickel-plated brass mounts respectively; one scabbard not originally belonging. Length 66 and 62.5 cm.
