Description

Solid silver, the interior gilt. Sparkling wine cooler in the shape of a bucket, stamped „FOEHR 800” crescent/crown „STUTTGART” on the outside of the lower barrel band. The two silver stirrups attached on the side both stamped „FOEHR 800” crescent/crown on the underside. The dedication hand-engraved in the base (tr.) „On the 10th anniversary of my appointment as deputy commander of the regiment by Vera Duchess of Württemberg 10 June 1888 - 1898.". Slight signs of age and use. Height 24 cm, total weight 2.55 kg. Comes with a print of the portrait photograph from an archive of Duchess Vera in uniform as deputy commander of the regiment. The Royal Württemberg court jeweller Eduard Foehr (1835-1904) in Stuttgart was highly esteemed for his exquisite silver work. He was exclusive supplier to the Royal House of Württemberg, including Duchess Vera, the adopted daughter of Karl I and Olga of Württemberg.
