Description

Round barrel with distinct central rib, smooth bore in 15 mm calibre. At the breech a silver-inlaid ornament of a leaping hound between foliage. Lock with finely engraved foliage, stag and leaping hound. Signed "Johann Martin Felber" under the pan. Slightly carved walnut full stock with dark horn nose. Engraved brass mounts decorated with scrolling foliage. On the thumb plate the monogram "A" under a princely coronet. Wooden ramrod with horn tip. Length 53.5 cm. Johann Martin Felber, documented as a gunsmith in Ravensburg, circa 1730-40.

Provenance: Georg Britsch, art dealer, including a certificate of authenticity and the original invoice from 2008.
