Description

Octagonal to round smooth-bore barrels in 15 mm calibre. Inserted brass crown, the top of the barrel signed "Felix Roscher - à Carlsbad". The barrel and muzzle with later added, gold-inlaid scrolling foliage, renewed bluing. Locks with profusely chiselled and engraved décor, depicting Athena seated between trophies of war. Slightly carved walnut full stocks with dark horn noses. Richly embossed, gold-plated brass mounts with images from the Turkish Wars. The pommel caps decorated with mascarons cast in deep relief. Wooden ramrods with horn tips. Length 49 cm each.

Provenance: Georg Britsch, art dealer, including the invoice for 21,000 DM.
