A long French flintlock pistol, circa 1650

Description

Blued, slender barrel, octagonal to round, with smooth bore in 13 mm calibre. At the breech unknown mark. Flintlock with flat lock plate and internal frizzen spring. Fixed half-cock notch, can be released only from the full-cock notch. Full stock of ebonised wood with iron furniture. Original wooden ramrod with iron tip. The worm on the opposite side is missing, perhaps stuck in the stock. Length 65 cm. Elegant pistol with early flintlock mechanism.
