Description
Straight, double-edged blade with double fullers on both sides (stained, partly pitted, jagged), the ricasso with two fullers on the obverse and Solingen signature "P. Hend ... & Grah / ... olingen", the upper quarter with etched sovereign’s cypher "W" underneath a crown on the obverse and Brunswick coat of arms on the reverse. English-style iron hilt, the crowned cypher "W" inside the basket, ray skin grip with intact triple wire wrap, black leather scabbard (bent) with iron fittings, the locket with suspension hook, attached Brunswick officer’s sword knot. Slightly damaged, traces of age. Length 97 cm. Very rare, worn officer’s weapon.Condition: II - Questions about the lot?
