Orders and Military Collectibles until 1918 | A109m | Live auction | 1500 Lots
Description
Leather body with a fine black fabric covering, a black lacquered leather top, peaks and edge reinforced, fire-gilt brass fittings. Screwed onto the front is the beautifully gildt Imperial Eagle of the Navy with polished details. Flat, leather-backed scale chains (one buckle strap has been cut off and is missing) attached to rosettes; the Imperial cockade is missing. Inserted at the top is the silver field insignia for officers with a black velvet reverse (the black ring on the front is finished in dark blue; presumably an Oldenburg bearer who was transferred from IR 91 to one of the naval battalions). Accompanied by the parade plume with a beautifully gilt plume socket, an officer's cap plate and black buffalo hair. Minor localized damage, with signs of wear and age. Very rare and of high rank.Condition: II Questions about the lot?
