Description

Elaborate replica. Double-edged gladius blade (stained), with three full grooves on each side; bearing the maker’s mark "N. P Ames Springfield" at the ricasso and the stamp "United States 1839 WS" on the reverse. Heavy brass cruciform hilt with a scaled grip. In a black leather scabbard with smooth brass fittings and a carrying stud. Partially slightly damaged, with signs of wear and age. Length 66.5 cm.
