Description
Base plate of two discs connected by a double bar, below three rings, the entire ensemble of the base plate connected by bars arranged in an x-shape, like the pips of the number five on a die. Between the two lower rings an additional double bar. In each of the two lower rings of the base plate a ring is set. Each of these rings connected to two pendants with a ring-shaped terminal, a central vertical bar and a hollow, boat-shaped end. The boat-shaped ends with minor casting flaws. On the reverse of the two upper discs loops for attaching the rattle plate to a backing. Beautiful dark green Patina, allowing the metallic ground to show through at the raised areas. Length 12.5 cm. An exceptionally complex rattle plate, most likely produced in a single casting using an intricate casting process. Intact, without missing parts or restorations. CULTURAL ASSET!Provenance: Provenance: Southern German private collection, taken over from the father, who died in 2013, at the beginning of the millennium.
