Description
The sturdy, slightly curved blade à la Montmorency with pandour point and false edge, both sides of the upper third lavishly etched with ornamentation of gilt trophies, figures, crescent moon, star and cabbalistic signs. Brass knuckle-bow hilt (remnants of gilding) with a flat oval pommel and lozenge-shaped languet, the ebony grip grooved lengthwise, pommel cap with leaf decoration somewhat loose, one nail lost on the side. The brass scabbard (dented) with iron chape and two movable suspension rings on ring bands with laurel décor in relief. Slightly damaged in places, noticeable signs of wear and age. Length 97 cm.
