Cal. .44(BlackPowder), SN. 9038. Matching numbers, except barrel wedge (Nr. 9127). Barrel length 7½". Good rifling. German silver blade front sight. Six shots. On barrel top New York City address, on the left side of the frame marked "Colt's Patent". The cylinder with traces of the classic roll scene showing Texas Ranger and Indian fight scene, also marked "Model U.S.M.R./9038/ Colts Patent". Overall gray, mottled patina. Square trigger guard and rectangular cylinder stops (=2nd Model). Walnut grip with acceptance cartouche, barely visible repair on both sides near the joint with the frame (see last four images, the repair line marked with red arrows). The barrel top with four small scratches (each ~3mm long). Length 36 cm. The rarest of all Dragoon models! Colt manufactured only 2700 2nd Model Dragoons in 1850/51.
