Cal. .44(BlackPowder), SN. 4118, matching numbers. Barrel length 7½", the bore with good rifling, but some mottling. Six shots, the cylinder with round stops. The battle scene completely rubbed off. The left of the frame marked "Colt's Patent U.S.". Square trigger guard, grip made of brass, the walnut grip scales unmarked. The rear sight most likely a period modification. Nice patina on all parts. A nice sample of a rare revolver, as carried by the US Army in the war against Texas.
