Description

A classic round silver medal with the same, but with reversed, images as used from 1928 to 1968: the Olympic champion, worn by many, on the front, and the goddess of victory on the reverse (fineness mark "800"). Also included is the bronze frame, created specifically for the Rome Games, engraved with "Canoa." The overall diameter is approximately 68 mm. The accompanying chain is missing. The silver medal in the canoe singles went to the Russian Aleksandr Silayev, and the silver medal in the canoe doubles to the Italians Aldo Deziand and Francesco La Macchia.
