The sturdy, single-edged blade (slightly pitted) with double fullers on both sides and a double-edged central point, the manufacturer's stamp „E. & F. Hörster Solingen" at the root. Knuckle-bow hilt in non-ferrous metal, the Chinese dragon in relief on the guard plate, fish-scale grip with replaced silver wire winding, intact finger strap. Blackened steel scabbard (traces of rust, abraded) with two movable suspension rings. Signs of age and handling. Length 102 cm. Either a commemorative weapon belonging to a Schutztruppen member or an export model from Hörster for China, see Hartmann/Herrmann, Infanterieoffizierdegen 1889, p. 153.
