Description

Gouache auf Papier, links unten signiert "Hans Bohrdt". Die drei Linienschiffe im Konvoi an einem Leuchtturm, im Hintergrund ein weiteres Schiff. Bildmaße 12 x 18 cm. Unter Glas, in Passepartout und neuerem Rahmen. Rahmenmaße 22,5 x 28,5 cm. Hans Bohrdt, autodidaktischer Marinemaler, der die Gunst und Förderung Kaiser Wilhelms II. genoss. Sein wohl berühmtestes Werk "Der letzte Mann" zeigt einen Matrosen mit Reichskriegsflagge auf dem gekenterten Kleinen Kreuzer Leipzig. Die hier vorliegende Gouache war Vorlage für eine gleichlautende Postkarte, ein beschädigtes Exemplar davon ist an der Bildrückseite befestigt.
