Description

Bleistift auf Velin, links unten monogrammiert "AvW." und bezeichnet in von Werners Handschrift "Congreß 1878". Links im Bild Otto von Bismarck und rechts der russische Diplomat Graf Pjotr. Schuwalow (darüber von Anton von Werner bezeichnet "Graf Schuwaloff Hose blau rot"). In der Mitte weitere Personenskizzen. Bildmaße 24 x 30 cm. In Passepartout mit einem Farbdruck seines Gemäldes (heute im Festsaal des Berliner Rathauses), unter Glas und neuzeitlich gerahmt. Maße 54,5 x 44,5 cm. Das im Original 6,15 x 3,60 Meter große Gemälde der Abschlusssitzung des Berliner Kongresses am 13. Juli 1878 war eine Auftragsarbeit der Stadt Berlin, für die der Magistrat 60.000 Mark ausgab.
