Description

Patent of nobility elevating him to the rank of count, comprising eight parchment leaves (seven handwritten in ink), some with gilt lettering, including the hand-painted coat of arms and the signatures of King August III and Prime Minister Heinrich von Brühl, dated Dresden, September 7, 1745. No folder. Some minor damage, signs of use and age. Dimensions approx. 38 x 29 cm. A rare find of the highest order! Johann Christian von Hennicke, a native of Halle, was a minister of state who advised August III on key political issues. For the festive inauguration of Wiederau Castle, Bach composed the cantata "Angenehmes Wiederau" for Hennicke in 1737. From 1739, Hennicke also served as vice-director of the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory. His Meissen service has been preserved (e.g., the tureen by Kändler in the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg, Inv.nr. 1908.388).
