Description

Patent of nobility elevating him to the rank of baron with eight handwritten parchment pages, some gold lettering, including the hand-drawn noble coat of arms in colour and the signatures of August III and Prime Minister Heinrich von Brühl, dated Dresden, 8 February 1741. In addition, six handwritten parchment pages documenting the transfer of ownership of the Storckwitz manor and mill to Baron von Hennicke, dated Schloss Moritzburg an der Elster, 11 September 1744, signed by administrative officials. Fragments of the wooden seal box and red wax still attached. No folder. Partially incomplete, slightly damaged, signs of age and use. Dimensions approx. 39 x 28 cm and approx. 42 x 29 cm. A rarity of the first order. Under the son of Augustus the Strong, Augustus III, Johann Christian von Hennicke (1681 -1752) gained the favour of the Queen and the powerful Prime Minister Heinrich Graf von Brühl, both of whom supported him. With this document, von Hennicke became a landowner in Gross-Storkwitz, just one kilometre west of Wiederau Castle, which Hennicke had acquired in 1737 and for the ceremonial inauguration of which Johann Sebastian Bach composed the cantata „Pleasant Wiederau".
