Order of the Red Eagle, 4th Class on ribbon (faded), in an unassociated presentation case. Royal Order of the Crown, a cross 4th Class (the upper cross arm scratched with a „W"), in a brown presentation case (hinge completely torn off). Five empty presentation cases (some badly damaged), including the case for the Russian Order of St. Anna 2nd Class, which was awarded to Robert Bunsen in 1865 (see enclosed extract from Lockemann's biography). Two green order ribbons, the colour changed due to age (Zähringer Lion?) and six stitched ribbon sections ranging from 2.6 - 2.8 cm in width (Order of the Dannebrog, Order of St. Stanislaus, Zähringer Lion, Prussian ribbon in black with silver borders, red ribbon and black ribbon). An old silver pocket watch (diameter 5 cm, no longer working, in need of repair) with winding key and chain section, the oval stamp „FINE SILVER" and the number „57950" in the lid. Moreover, four handwritten postcards from relatives of Robert Bunsen and a reproduction photograph (18 x 22.5 cm) of his family, labelled „Familie Bunsen ca. 1858" on the back. Damaged in places, signs of handling and age. Although the objects all come from the family, they cannot be linked for certain to Robert Bunsen personally except for several order ribbons and the presentation case for the Russian Order of St. Anna 2nd Class.Provenance: Consigned directly from the family estate.
