Description

Blechfragmente mit Treibarbeiten und feiner Ziselierung, teils Spuren von Verzinnung erkennbar. Die vorliegenden zehn Fragmente teilweise bereits aus mehreren Bruchstücken zusammengesetzt. Unter den bildliche Darstellungen erkennbar das Medusenhaupt einer Aegis, die geschuppten Leiber drachenartiger Fabelwesen und gelocktes Haupthaar. Die einheitliche Tönung aller Stücke mit einer graublauen Patina spricht für die Herkunft von einem Objekt, wohl ein sogenannter römischer „Paradehelm". Länge 2 cm - 10,4 cm.

Provenance: Aus der Sammlung Axel Guttmann, erworben in den 90er Jahren im deutschen Kunsthandel.
