Description

The rectangular casket made of fire-gilt sheet brass, on four ridged ball feet. The corners reinforced with screw-mounted ornamental fittings, the sliding cover for the false keyhole on the front is incomplete. The hinged lid with a central keyhole, the cover signed "MICHEL MAN". The movable carrying handle has been lost. A border of finely engraved figures in contemporary dress, some in Turkish costume, a scene featuring two antique-style heroes with shields and sabres on the lid. A city view engraved on the base. The casket has a blued mechanism with four movable latches, the key replaced. The interior lined with old decorative paper. Dimensions 4.6 x 7.3 x 5 cm.
