Description

Bronze mit grünlicher Patina. Vollrund gearbeitete Darstellung eines nackten Jünglings in klassischem Kontrapost mit zurückgestelltem rechten Bein. Der athletische Männerakt steht auf runder Plinthe mit ornamentaler Profilierung. Über der linken Schulter liegt ein Ziegenfell (Nebris), gussintegriert und rückseitig herabfallend. Die rechte Hand ist leicht erhoben, der ausgestreckte Zeigefinger weist nach vorn. Die Figur orientiert sich an der als „Narziss von Pompeji“ bekannten antiken Bronzestatue, die häufig auch als Darstellung des Dionysos interpretiert wird. Das antike Vorbild wurde 1862 in Pompeji entdeckt und befindet sich heute im Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli. Reproduktionen solcher antiker Modelle entstanden insbesondere im späten 19. Jhdt. in Italien im Kontext der Grand Tour als Sammler- und Souvenirbronzen. Altersgemäßer Erhaltungszustand. Oberfläche mit überwiegend gleichmäßiger dunkelbrauner bis grünlicher Patina und partiellen Oxidationsspuren, besonders in Vertiefungen. Leichte Abriebspuren an exponierten Stellen. Runde Standfläche nicht vollständig plan. Unterseitig handschriftliche Bezeichnung „narcis“. Maße ca. 41 x 19 x 15 cm.
