Description

The slender octagonal barrel with a slightly flared muzzle. Eight-groove rifled bore in 9.5 mm calibre. Dovetailed brass sights. The mark "MK" struck at the breech. The lock with external main spring. All surfaces embellished with finely etched tendrils. Engraved spring covers in brass, the cock engraved with tendrils and grotesque decoration. The trigger mechanism with set trigger, the trigger has been lost. The full shaft made of walnut with lavish inlays of engraved and partially coloured bone, mother-of-pearl and brass. Restored crack on the butt, a small replacement around the trigger plate. Horn butt cap, the patch-box cover and the lower bone ramrod pipe well replaced. Individual bone plaques are good replacements. Original, wooden ramrod with engraved bone tip. Length 131 cm.
