Description

The skull of the burgonet forged in two pieces with a high, turned comb. The peak tapering to a point, the hinged cheek pieces each with seven pierced openings for hearing. The riveted neck guard with a turned edge. The gorget opening on a hinge, with a ridged breastplate and two neck lames, the upper lame with a pronounced roped flange. A repair on the right edge. The attached pauldrons sliding on five lames with a turned and roped edge. Ridged breastplate, the pronounced flanges struck inwards. The mark "V" struck below the gorget. Riveted fauld with attached tassets, each sliding on four lames. The backplate with turned and roped flanges, the riveted culet with a border of brass-plated lining rivets. Assembled from old components, most of the leather lining renewed. Height approx. 105 cm.
