Sturdy, single-edged blade with a double-edged point. A copper-inlaid imperial orb mark on the reverse of the blade. The ricasso struck with a linear ornament on both sides. A post horn mark between two Pi marks on the obverse, a Stantler hallmark (crescent and cross) next to a Pi mark on the reverse. Remnants of blackening on the hilt, straight quillons, guard rings on both sides, finger rests and pas d'âne. Original, leather-covered grip, the gradation offset with a corded ridge. Remnants of embossed geometric decoration in the upper section. Sturdy, double tapered pommel with remnants of blackening. Length 133 cm. The Stantler family was a well-known family of bladesmiths in South Germany, active in Passau from the 15th to the 17th century.
