Rare photograph (tr.) "Adolf Hitler leaves the Landsberg fortress – 20 December 1924", Hitler standing by a limousine, in the background the Landsberg Bayertor gate (a person airbrushed out), on the lower right co-exposed title, surmounted by handwritten ink signature "Adolf Hitler", on the lower left edge "Phot. Hoffmann Mchn". On the reverse the address field with dedication and signature in ink by EmilMaurice to (tr.)"Miss Betty Moritz in memory of my banishment to Landsberg – Emil Maurice – 3 May 1924 – 27 January 1925".
Condition: II + Betty Moritz (1910 – 2003) was the daughter of the prison guard Valentin Moritz. Frequently visiting her father at Landsberg prison she made friends with inmate Hitler and the other November-putschists. Until well into the 1930ies Hitler kept sending her postcards and books, all of which had been kept in family hands until recently. Questions about the lot?
