Award document for the Faithful Service Award in Gold to the (tr.) "caretaker, First Hauptwachtmeister Valentin Moritz in Bayreuth", dated 25 October 1941, facsimile signature of Hitler and blind-embossed seal, folded.Two Hoffmann photo postcards, Hitler shaking the hand of Valentin Moritz during his visit to Landsberg in October 1934.
One postcard with ink inscription by Betty Moritz (tr.) "The picture shows my father meeting the Führer again in the Landsberg fortress after 10 years" on the reverse. A further Hoffmann photo postcard, Hitler on his walk around the prison courtyard in 1934, on the reverse inscribed by Hedwig Maurice in 1938 and addressed to Betty Moritz (already married at that time). Special postmark (tr.) "Munich capital of the movement – 9 November 1938", and ink stamp (tr.) "Fortress prison Landsberg a.L.", Hedwig Maurice writes to her on "9.11.38" that Wilhelm Briemann and her husband had "thought of you dearly on our visit to the fortress. Much to our regret we were unable to write a card to you together because my husband was confined to bed with a severe tonsillitis. [.] Yours, Mrs. Maurice". Also the Samweber (Kistler) photo postcard (tr.) "Fortress prison, Landsberg am Lech" with imprinted epigraph by Hitler, the reverse blank.
Large-size photograph (12 x 17.5 cm), Hitler in a traditional suit with short leather breeches leaning against an open Mercedes, Emil Maurice at the steering wheel with cap and glasses, the reverse with dedication by Emil Maurice (tr.) "In memory of the journey to Simbach – 24 April 1925" in black ink.
In an old brown cardboard box in which all (also the following) objects from the estate of Betty Moritz were hidden at the end of the war, on the lid "deceptive" pencil inscription, among others, (tr.) "5 toothbrushes". Dimensions 31.5 x 19.5 x 7.5 cm.
Condition: II Betty Moritz (1910 – 2003) was the daughter of the prison guard Valentin Moritz. Frequently visiting her father at Landsberg prison she made friends with inmate Hitler and the other November-putschists. Until well into the 1930ies Hitler kept sending her postcards and books, all of which had been kept in family hands until recently. Questions about the lot?
