Description
Broad, double-edged blade with strongly undulating cutting edges. The long ricasso with two guards mounted on the sides. Two well-sealed suspension holes and an old restored crack above the hooks. The false quillons extending into stylised fleurs-de-lys motifs, split guards on the underside. Sturdy guard rings on both sides. The grip with a fine notch is a historicism replacement. Flat pommel with continuous double fullers and an offset riveted finial. Length 189 cm.Provenance: Collection of Dr. Heinrich Tanner in Herisau (Switzerland).
