Description

Modelled after the ancient example. Fully plastically worked alabaster. The squatting sculpture of the "knife sharpener" with a shoulder cloth and a whetstone, sharpening a blade on a cuboid plinth. Slight signs of age. Dimensions 19 x 10 x 18.5 cm. A copy of this sculpture worked in marble is now in Florence in the Tribuna Room in the Uffizi.Condition: II Questions about the lot?
