Description

Reddish-brown patinated bronze bust of the General wearing his regiment's attila with fur, full regalia and mirliton. Signed "Karl Jansen" on the back with an illegible date "18..". Height including pedestal approx. 73 cm. Weight 29 kg. Karl Ludwig Rudolf Janssen (1855 - 1927) was a German sculptor. He studied under August Wittig at the Academy of Arts, Düsseldorf, becoming Professor and holder of the chair at the Düsseldorf Academy of Arts in 1895.
