The inside of the lid with the slots for the cables, the safety notice (tr.) “This is a secret object...”, the alphabets I and II for the position of the rotary switch and the operating instructions (tr.) “Caution!”. The metal disc cover with four knurled screws, an inspection window and a sign reading (tr.) “In case of imminent enemy danger – destroy the wiring of the ratchet disc!”. The wooden case visibly soiled with paint residue, complete with the original lock, linen handle, the supports for Enigma I and the nameplate “Ln.-H. R. B. (GL) 1/III - Gerät E.U. - Werk. Nr. 701”. Not functional because the cables have been cut off. The clock was used by the German Luftwaffe in mid-1944 as an extension of the Enigma I. Using the wooden rotary knob, the number disc was advanced once an hour and connected to the Enigma plugboard by means of a 20-part pluggable cable set.Condition: II - III Questions about the lot?
