Description

Steel with original field-grey paint finish, refreshed in period (clear signs of rust); inside a three-part, padded light-coloured leather lining with tabs (one patch later repaired with plaster) attached to an iron lining ring; a fragment of a leather chin strap attached to riveted eyelets. Stamped “ET 64” on the inside, with the maker's mark “R 1770” at the crown. Partially slightly damaged, with clear signs of wear and age.
