Description
Sturdy, wedge-shaped blade (re-polished), the maker's mark “PDL” (Peter Daniel Lüneschloss, Solingen) dressed at the base, on the obverse the stamp “JR” below a crown (King Johann of Saxon, 1854–1873). Massive brass vessel with ribbed hilt, unit markings “12.A.F.1.53.” on the crossguard, “JR” below a crown on the pommel. In black leather scabbard (heavily scuffed, re-blackened) with smooth brass fittings, “28. A. 5. 18.” on the locket. Slightly damaged in places, signs of age. Length 67 cm.
