Description
Matching numbers. Sturdy blade with double fullers on both sides (slightly stained), the etched signature of the manufactory Chatellerault “Mre Impale de Chat - Aout 1861 = Caraber Mle 1854” on the spine. Brass knuckle-bow hilt with three obverse guard bars, inspection stamp and the number “821” on the knuckle-bow, leather-covered grip with wire wrap of non-ferrous metal. In a heavy iron scabbard (darkened, finely grained) with two movable suspension rings, the stamp “821” and inspection mark at the upper locket. Signs of use and age. Length 119 cm.
