Description

Sturdy, single-edged blade with a double-edged point and slender fuller on both sides. At the forte, fine etched scrolling foliage on both sides, reworked by hand with engraved details, fine chiselled background with traces of gilding. Finely forged basket with shell guard on both sides and broadly sweeping S-shaped crossguard with octagonal terminals. Grip with later replacement iron wire wrap, rectangular pagoda-shaped pommel. Length 90.5 cm.
