Description
Outwardly curved handle terminating at the top in a sickle-shaped bracket, above which a stylised lion's head is positioned centrally. The ends formed as highly stylised animal heads. The bracket is attached by two rivets with traces of the sheet metal border of the once-associated vessel. At the lower end the handle transitions into an attache in the shape of a stylised satyr's head with horns, pointed ears, eyes and a beard, whereby a rivet head between the eyes could be interpreted as a snub nose. Dark green Patina, with minor traces of corrosion in places. Height 15 cm. Cultural Asset!Provenance: Provenance: Southern German private collection, taken over from the father, who died in 2013, at the beginning of the millennium.
