Description
Four pendants, probably from a breast harness: 1) Disc with depiction of two antithetical gazelles facing each other, above a long band tapering slightly upwards with a rolled-over end at the top. The gazelles struck from behind with dies, with outlines and anatomical details reworked by chasing on the front. The border framed by a double incised line with crossed lines in between forming lozenges and triangles. Immediately above the figural disc, a two-zone incised decoration: upper zone with hatched lozenges and triangles between two double lines, lower zone with elongated hatched triangles. Dark, almost black Patina with oxide deposits and incrustation. Cracks and minor losses at the lower border of the disc. Length 29.5 cm. 2) Fan-shaped fitting with concave sides terminating in a point at the bottom. Along the vertical centreline and the curved lower edge, a row of bosses framed by circle-eye punches struck from the front. In the centre, an additionally incised double line with St Andrew's crosses in between, creating four fields. In each of the upper fields, a bird facing right perched on a shrub above a vessel (?) with a rectangular outline in side view. In the lower fields, two antithetical gazelles facing each other, engraved. A row of small perforations along the lower border. Two larger opposing perforations at the ends of the central double line with St Andrew's crosses, two of equal size at the upper border in the corners, supplemented on the left by a small perforation. Dark green Patina with light oxide deposits and incrustation. Length 24.6 cm. 3) Fan-shaped pendant with a rolled-over central projection at the top. In the centre, covering almost the entire surface, an anchor-shaped motif with a broad staff and triangular hooks pointing upward from the crossbar at the bottom. A row of small perforations along the curved lower border. One further perforation in the centre of the right border and at the top of the rolled-over band. Dark green Patina. Length 21.3 cm. 4) Fan-shaped pendant with a rolled-over central projection at the top. Rounded upper end, sides slightly concave, lower edge slightly curved. In the centre, a staff 1.5 cm wide, repoussé from behind. Along the lower edge a row of seven perforations; two further perforations in the centre of the sides.
