Description
Wood, carved and gilt, with enamel dial and mechanical spring-driven movement; rectangular case with applied foliate decor, a Female figure attached to the side, and an amphora-shaped finial with lateral handles. The white dial features arabic hour indices, minute track, two winding holes and ornamentally designed brass hands. Formal design in the Neoclassical Louis-XVI tradition with pearl-rod and rosette ornamentation; the figure, dressed in antique-style robes, leans against the case and raises her right hand in a gestural manner. Rectangular wood panel at the rear providing access to the movement; four ball feet. Abrasion and losses to the gilt socket, minor chips; the shaft of the amphora presumably broken at some point and re-attached (visible seam and adhesive residue); dial with localised damage. Surface with uneven, partially rubbed gilt socket and Patina; keys present. Dimensions 47.5 x 25.2 x 12.5 cm.Condition: II - III Questions about the lot?
